Hello Everyone,
It is great to see all of the grass nice and green again. I think it will be a while before the lakes are all up to capacity though. I checked all of the out flow structures and none are leaking. Evaporation and the excavation of golf balls has to be the reason the front nine lakes are getting so low (lol). We are now full steam into the summer golf weather and feel very confident that I was right assuming we would not have much play. Please prove me wrong and lets get out and play more here. As good as the golf course has been, talk it up, I know for sure our course is in much better shape than other courses in the area. There is also not many weeds on our course. The greens, tees and fairways are almost perfect. On a scale of one to five, five being the best we rank a 4.4 for golf course condition, according 50 surveys recently gathered. We have to be doing something right! So tell your friends. The price is right! Happy hour from noon to 6pm Monday through Friday.
Okay, I will get off my soap box and tell you about more great things happening around the golf course. Come out and see what you are missing! Thank you!
Summer Tournaments
The Summer Tour has gotten off to a great start. We are still receiving new members to the Tour and anyone still has a chance to win. Assistant Professional, Kris Andreu is doing a great job creating the Tour Story after each event. We send out the story every Tuesday. Keep and eye on who is leading. The Cash is building every week. If you want to play, call and let us know.
Interclub at Deep Creek Golf Club is Friday July 10th at 8:30am. It is a shotgun start and 7 clubs compete on a biweekly quota point format. Deep Creek's members represent the club and try to beat their handicap in hopes to be the highest plus score to win the team event. Deep Creek is currently in 3rd place with Rotonda and Heron Creek leading us. If you are playing on the 10th, make us proud and lets win!
Okay, so here is something GREAT! A 1 Person 2 Ball Scramble. July 11th. Have you ever professed you are the best second ball player around? Here is your chance to prove it. The tournament will be tee times every 10 minutes starting at 7:30am. The format will be a 1 person scramble in a threesome to save time. The cost is $50 which includes golf and food, and cash prizes to the top flight winners. If we have 80 players, there will be 4 flights of 20 and the top 5 scores will be paid. Anyone can play! Click here for information to sign up!
Nine & Dine has been rained out as of late or not had enough players and will begin again closer to the fall.
Improve your Game
Many golfers hit the ball to the right with a push, a fade, or the dreaded slice. In order for this to happen the club face must be slightly or highly open at impact. If you want to hit it straight, then you must learn to roll your hands through the shot at impact. An easy way to do this is to make practice swings like you are hitting a baseball with a golf grip and feel your right hand roll over the left as the club is right out in front of you. As you pass the normal impact area the right hand releases over the left and the club face closes (points left). Try this a few times next time your on the range. Keep it in the fairway!
Thank you,

Course News
The golf course is in phenomenal shape. We have recently been measuring the green speed and they have averaged over the course of the last week a 9 on the stimp meter. They are faster in the morning.
There is a new drop area on #4. You now have to drop to the left of the cart path as you approach the green. The lake is marked as a yellow staked water hazard.
The sand hill cranes have been on the golf course as of late and taking care of our bug population. Unfortunately, the birds do damage in some spots we don't want them. Sand hill cranes are so beautiful and pleasant to have around, but if you find them near or on the greens please nicely shoo them away. Thank you for your cooperation.
